The weather in Tombeau bay is much pleasant being less windy or rainy than the east or south coasts and not as hot as the southwest of Mauritius.
Tombeau bay got its name in the 19th century from the burials of sailors who perished in shipwrecks near the bay.
Fort Albert fortification – still exist in Tombeau bay which was built in the 19th century by the British to protect the bay from naval threats during colonial time.
